    Safety Equipment

    in AIRBOAT TALK

Just a reminder to carry the required safety equipment on your boat at all times. There have been times (especially with the feds) that they get very nit picky with details. Remember to have a throwable floatation device and have your running lights in working order because these things seem to get us in trouble a lot.

ALWAYS have a 2x4 or 2x6 in your boat to pry you off of problem areas. Keep at least 100 feet of strong tow rope in case you need to get towed in or get pulled out of a bad spot. If you get in trouble and all else fails, call any Association officer and we will send out a mass text on the emergency text-alert system. It may take a while , but we will get you help! A few years a go, I needed help, and I had to wait 7 hours before any boat could get to me...it happens.
